libdv-bin software package provides software library for DV format digital video (sample apps), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libdv-bin
libdv-bin is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libdv-bin package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libdv-bin *
You will get with libdv-bin package name, version, architecture and description in a table
